The S3 Shoulder CPM Device
The S3 Shoulder CPM comes in two configurations:
- The S3-D which offers dual drives to achieve sequential motion in internal/external rotation; flexion/extension or abduction/adduction
- The S3-S offers a single drive configuration and provides motion in flexion/extension or abduction/adduction only
Both the S3 devices come with a rechargeable Motion Controller and patient safety features including a thumb on/off switch and Reverse-On-Load feature. They can be configured for attachment to the folding portable CPM Chair to offer outstanding patient comfort and adjustment capabilities.

Range of motion:
- External rotation: 0° to 85°
- Internal rotation: 0° to 85°
- Forward flexion: 0° to 135°
- Extension: 0° to 135°
- Abduction/adduction: 0° to 135°
- Rate of motion: 110° per minute
Indications:
Immediate post-operative management after the following where indicated:
- Rotator cuff repair
- After acromioplasty, particularly where the operation has been repeated and in cases where early physiotherapy cannot be assured
- Capsulotomy and arthrolysis for post-traumatic arthritis with restriction of motion
- Following total shoulder replacement
- Synovectomy for rheumatoid arthritic and hemophilic arthropathy in the absence of acute inflammation, pain or bleeding
- Arthrotomy and drainage for acute septic arthritis
- In joint contracture after manipulation
